Our promise
Every diamond set in an Andersson Stone piece, natural or lab-grown, is guaranteed for life never to change in colour or lose its brilliance. It will look as bright and as white in decades as it does the day it arrives.
Why a diamond never changes
A diamond is pure carbon crystallised in one of the most stable structures found in nature. It is the hardest natural material, rated 10 on the Mohs scale, and it is not affected by light, time or everyday wear. This is true of natural and lab-grown diamonds alike: they share the same chemical composition, the same hardness and the same optical properties.
That is also why we are careful to call our lab-grown diamonds what they are: real diamonds, not simulants. Simulants such as cubic zirconia or glass can cloud, scratch and lose their sparkle over time. A diamond does not.
Keeping the sparkle
Over time, everyday life leaves a thin film of skin oils, lotion and dust on the surface of any diamond, which can make it look less lively. This is not a change in the diamond itself, and a gentle clean restores its full brilliance. Soak your piece in lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap, brush gently with a soft brush, rinse and dry with a lint-free cloth. See our care guide for more.
What is covered
- Any change in the colour of a diamond set in your piece
- Any loss of the diamond's natural brilliance
What is not covered
- Chips, cracks or fractures caused by impact. Although diamonds are extremely hard, a sharp knock at the right angle can damage any stone.
- Lost diamonds, which are covered by our 4-year warranty when caused by a manufacturing defect in the setting
- Dullness caused by dirt or residue, which cleaning removes
- Pieces altered or repaired by anyone other than Andersson Stone
How to make a claim
- Reach us through our contact page with your order number, a short description and a photo.
- We review your claim and, if the piece needs to come in, send you instructions for insured return shipping.
- If the diamond has changed in colour or brilliance, we replace it with a diamond of the same or equivalent quality and return your piece to you insured, free of charge.
Your statutory rights
This guarantee is given in addition to your rights under consumer law. As a consumer in Sweden and the EU, you always keep your statutory right to complain about faulty goods. For manufacturing defects in the piece itself, such as loose stones, broken clasps, prongs or settings, see our 4-year warranty.
